Role Summary
The SAP Business Objects Developer will interact with the SAP BI Architect and other members of the BI development team to scope, design and implement BI reporting using SAP BO development tools. In addition, the developer will serve as an organizational expert on BO tools and will be responsible for architecting and creating a framework for data analysis, dashboards, scheduling, distribution and retention policies
Essential Responsibilities
Design, Build & Deploy Complex BO Universes and Web Intelligence Reports. Design underlying data model.
Elicit business requirements; understand business processes and document functional as well as technical specs.
Analyze production issues, identify and evaluate alternate solutions, communicate status to stake holders.
Identify and document test cases and execute unit as well as system integration testing.
Responsible for supporting the application consisting of canned webi reports as wells universes for ad hoc queries.
Effectively work with DBA team to enhance / correct tables, views, stored procedures etc used in the application.
Effectively work with ETL team to analyze an issue end-to-end as well as contribute in ETL design
Responsible for testing, optimizing report performance and user experience as well as applying standards and best practices to the report and universe development.
Troubleshoot BOXI and OS level infrastructure issues, Troubleshoot application issues
Must be able to work during UK day - shift
Qualifications
BE/ME/MTech/ MCA with good academic background.
6+ years experience developing Webi, Deski, Crystal reports & Universes on SAP BusinessObjects including R2 and R3 and Oracle RDBMS
At least 3 full SDLC verifiable project experience in BI/DW projects as senior BO developer
Solid proven expertise and practical experience with SAP BusinessObjects tool suite including Webi, Crystal, Universe design in R2 and R3 environment.
Expert level proficiency in building webi reports including drill-down and report linking in BOXI R3 and R2
Expert level proficiency in designing complex universes including Contexts, AggregateAware, Resolving traps
Expert level proficiency in dimensional modeling and Star schema based logical data modeling
Expert SQL Development skills with Oracle 11g including performance optimization
Self-starter, team player and able to communicate clearly to users as well as technical teams
Exposure to Data Analytics and Data Visualization techniques
Knowledgeable in Data Warehousing data modeling and DataServices ETL techniques
